Sunday Primitives

Mary Lou of Sunday Primitives has been crafting for 30 years. After owning the occasional shop, and as a new grandmother, she decided to devote herself full time to her craft and to her grandchildren.

Her love with the primitive style, and especially primitive dolls and linens, grew out of her love of antiques and things from the past. She is inspired by Victoria Lynn of Kentucky Primitives and creates her own designs. (Mary Lou is famous at Bradford Mercantile for her Town Pride pillows and her state pillows.) Mary Lou's dolls and pillows are often fashioned from homespun and fabric that she has collected over the years - making each item unique.

The name Sunday Primitives tells of her spirituality as well as the symbol of the angel which can often be found in her work.

Mary Lou has lived in Massachusetts her whole life. She is the mother of four daughters, and is the grandmother of a little girl and is expecting her first grandson soon. She is often found on the beach in the summer catching sun with her sewing kit at her side.

Bradford Mercantile is proud to support this talented local artist.
