Vicki - OH
Vicki's folk art dolls have gained quite a reputation. Known for their detail, her work has been purchased by the National Museum of American Folk Art in New York City as well as featured in Country Living Magazine.
Her work features a lot of antique quilts and she describes her work as "soft primitive folk art." Living in Amish country she has an abundance of authentic quilts and home-spun fabrics available for her dolls. She does not use synthetic materials. Some of her dolls are painted and then aged with sanding and all of her clothing is aged with tea staining.
All of her dolls are signed and the limited-edition dolls are numbered.
Vicki never imagined herself doll making as a kid or even a young adult. She hated dolls. One time as a kid she held a doll hostage in the backyard as a prisoner of war and dirt-bombed it with her friend Scotty.
Vicki has an Art Degree. When she isn't making dolls she is active at her son's high school.
