Payments

What are my payment options?

Bradford Mercantile accepts American Express, Discover Card, Master Card and Visa.

Can I order without a credit card?

No, the Bradford Mercantile website does not offer payment by check or cash at this time.

I’m not comfortable using my credit card on the internet. Can I place an order over the phone?

Yes, we will accept orders by phone. Please call the shop at 401-289-2102 to place an order.

Do you charge sales tax?

We will charge sales tax on all orders shipped to Rhode Island customers. Customers in other states should follow their own state law regarding internet purchase reporting.

Do you offer coupons?

Bradford Mercantile strives to provide its customers with affordable prices at all times. We may offer coupons from time to time in our mailings. Customers subscribed to our free mailing list will be the first to know about special events, sales and new product offerings. Sign up today here.

Gifts

Can I buy gift certificates?

Bradford Mercantile offers gift certificates in a range of amounts redeemable both in our retail shop and on our website. Gift certificate recipients will be issued a coupon code to redeem. Gift certificates must be used for a single order. Refunds will not be issued for any remaining balance.

Do you offer gift wrapping?

Bradford Mercantile offers free gift wrapping materials on most orders.  If the gift wrap option is selected at checkout, we will provide a gift bag and seasonal tissue paper in the shipping box.  All gifts bags have our logo printed on them and a complimentary hanging card that says, "This gift was thoughtfully selected for you at Bradford Mercantile - a uniquely New England shop specializing in wares for the colonial and primitive home."  In most cases, to protect the wrapping materials and to keep shipping costs down, we will not wrap the item.

Exception: An item is too large or irregularly shaped for our standard gift bags.  If you select gift wrapping and we cannot fit it in a standard bag, we will notify you that the item cannot be gift wrapped.

Shipping

How long will my order take?

We ship all orders via FedEx and are committed to shipping your package as soon as possible. Please allow 2 business day to process all orders to shipped status.

How long will a drop ship order take?

Some products available through Bradford Mercantile are drop shipped directly from the artisan's workshop. See product description page for more information on approximate shipping time. Please be aware that for these items we cannot guarantee an exact ship date. Keep this in mind if placing an order for a gift that needs to arrive by a specific date.

How do I track my order?

When your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. Upon shipment, we will send you a FedEx tracking number so that you may track your package from our store. Keep in mind that we are located in Rhode Island when deciding on your shipping speed preference.

Do you offer free shipping?

Due to the nature of our products, we are unable to offer free shipping and still keep prices at a reasonable level for all customers.

Can I cancel an order?

If you have not yet received a FedEx tracking number, please call the shop immediately at 401-289-2102. If your order has already shipped, please call the shop to discuss return options.

Website Features

What is “share”?

Throughout our site, you will find this symbol: Share Icon. Click on it to find a variety of ways to share the content on Bradford Mercantile's site with people you know. Using these features you can share things such as linking to an item that you wish to give or receive for a special occasion, events going on both in the shop and in the East Bay area and interesting posts from Terry's shopkeeper's notebook.  

By emailing, you can send a direct link to the page you are on to friends and family. By selecting the print option you can print the page you are on to take with you to reference later. By selecting the favorites option you can bookmark the current page to easily locate it again later. Some of the other options like Facebook, Twitter and Myspace will allow you to post a link to the page you are on to share us with you friends and family using those services.

What is “subscribe” and why should I do it?

Throughout our site, you will find this symbol: RSS. This feature will allow you to subscribe to an ongoing "feed" of all additions to the page you are on. This uses a technology called RSS. It is a quick and easy way to view all the latest and greatest at Bradford Mercantile from upcoming store events, both in store and around the East Bay, most recent posts to the Shopkeeper's Notebook and new products as they roll out.

Clicking on the subscribe button will allow you to add that pages feed to such places as your Google homepage or Google reader, MSN homepage and Yahoo homepage. The next time you login to your chosen feed reader (for example, Google's iGoogle homepage) you will see any new updates without having to visit Bradford Mercantile's website.

What is Twitter?

Twitter is a free social networking service that enables its users to send and receive quick, short messages known as tweets. Bradford Mercantile uses tweets to update our friends with the most current news about the store. By following @bmercantile on twitter, you will always be the first to hear about anything new.

Facebook is a social networking website where friends and family can connect and share all manner of content such as links, pictures, games and messages.
