Join us for the first of monthly events at Bradford Mercantile. What better event than a Thank You for all of your support? We were so thrilled to find out that we were voted Best of Rhode Island Reader's Choice Home Store 2010. Refreshments, good company, and of course good shopping will make this party a fun time. This is a great time to come and see the new Fall offerings.

The Bristol Garden Club presents Generations of Elegance a Standard Flower Show celebrating the 200th Anniversary of Historic Linden Place. The show will be held on September 15th and 16th, 2010 at 500 Hope Street, Bristol, Rhode Island, Wednesday: 2 to 7 P.M. and Thursday: 10 A.M. to 7 P.M.
The show will feature 36 floral designs based upon Linden Place and the people who lived there. Each design will complement the room and furniture where it is placed. Classes for the Design Division include “Broadway and the Silver Screen”, the “Secret Nuptials” and Artistic Crafts, “Life on the High Seas”. The “History Kids”, local children dressed in period costumes, will provide personal histories of the characters they represent. A selection of Vintage Gowns will be on display.
This flower show represents collaboration between Linden Place and the Bristol Garden Club that has spanned a decade. Previous flower shows have received State and National recognition and awards.
The Ballroom will feature an impressive display of Horticulture; “The Gentleman Farmer” including flowers, container plants, branches, fruits, vegetables and herbs. “Down on the Colt Farm”, a new youth exhibit will showcase animals created from vegetables and fruits.
Amateur gardeners are invited to enter the horticultural competition. Entries should be delivered to Linden Place on Tuesday, September, 14, 2010, between 3:00 P.M. and 7:00 P.M. For further information on entries call 253-5771 or 254-4264.
Browse in the Boutique where you will find delightful hand made items and a Farmer’s Market. Complimentary light refreshments will be available.
